Frustrations and Forgetfulness
Forgetfulness can be mistaken,
It’s like a drain that’s never full.
Forgetfulness is the darkened shadow,
All my shining moments dull.
I now lose my way in places known,
My mouth betraying my mind,
My past, my future all lost out at sea,
Falling years, miles behind.
Forgetfulness is the thickest cloud,
Uncertain horizons in my sky,
I am not myself most of the time,
Too young, too tired to question why.
