A simple about me
Michelle Middleton Artist
Initially, I studied Art and Design at secondary school and then progressed onto a BA(Hons) Interior Design at Leeds College of Art and Design.
I then worked as a Project Co-Ordinator and later Project Manager for a Commercial Office Furniture Company, then progressing (I use the term sarcastically) onto a variety of roles within a large Telecommunications Company.
Following a career break to start a family and a life rethink I decided to return to my first love, artistic expression and creativity.
I then joined Bradford College of Art and Design and completed the Level'0 Art Course; rather like a foundation, I found this an excellent platform and introduction for the MA in Visual Arts to which I have now recently completed.
I also attained an NVQ Childcare and Young Persons Certificate Level 2 whilst studying Art, as I feel passionate about the relationship between creative development and all learning outcomes; and that creativity and the arts must remain within the curriculum, not sidelined, and it is my hope to eventually move into youth work and teaching so bringing this ethos into my profession.
I have worked voluntarily within schools both at Infant/Junior and Comprehensive level, and I have launched my own organisation named 'Little Acorn Artists' which is all about sharing Art with children and young people. Presently, I  run an after-school Art Club aimed at children aged 5-11.

For the past 7 years I have also voluntarily run a local support group for women living with Endometriosis, and I actively raise funds for the main UK Charity. As a woman, living with the illness myself, I feel a responsibility to share and help others to understand and manage their diagnosis; and much of my Art explores my journey trough this subject.
I have exhibited within Galleries at Bradford Art College, The South Square Gallery, Bradford and the MA Exhibition at the Dean Clough Gallery, Halifax. My work was recently on display in Keighley through an East Street Arts space and It is my hope to secure a local regular exhibition space to enable a continuation of my work.

I have produced work on commission basis and if you would like to know more about this then please contact me.

I also provide a one-to-one tutoring service aimed at young children and young adults wanting to develop their artistic technique and thinking.
